Color Field Series

Fire, wax, alchemy, transformation, a new being.
Magical, sacred act, resurrection.

In this thought, I understand constant becoming, infinite space, perfection, the universe we live in.

As I have expressed in other writings, I cannot stop feeling that art helps me process existence. This time, encaustic painting has opened the door to transforming matter through fire, heat, different states of the same element.

My work talks about the intangible, states of the being. My search focuses on making the permanent states of human feelings visible.

In this series, I look for the intuitive, simple and fresh, dialogue in the color fields and shapes, to generate an encounter. A relationship as comfortable and natural as the freshness of the waves lapping gently against the shoreline.

The work results from the ductility of the wax and the instant that follows which condensates it into something permanent. Two extremes urging me to cultivate finite conscience in the action avoiding the capricious control of the material.

In each painting, my purpose is to access my intuition consciously and make it visible. A perfect state to create a new reality: my works.

I think there is not such a thing as correct or incorrect. May be, if I had …, but I did not… May be, none of that is real.

The only true thing is the here and now, the perfect instant when I conquer the work, when I solve the aesthetic dilemma; moments when synchronicity and energy are the elements opening the door to my desire.

My path as an artist is nourished by the answers whispered by the universe. I encourage myself to be what I feel, what I sense, without the interference of reasoning.

My words and thoughts result from work; they are thoughts that illustrate my processes, the simple narration of my need, an essential element generating the content in my journey as an artist.

These paintings are the challenge to deliver the ungraspable, ephemeral and long lasting as life itself.
