The set of planes series is a consequence of my creative process. It is integrated by two parts, the artist’s book and the engravings that go with it.
The artist’s book is a fun and participative proposal allowing the public to interact with it. On the other hand, the engravings originate as an unfolding of the work, the index which displays the aesthetic proposals resulting from the compositional relationship of the parts.
This work was born with the premise of working with paper alone, in an intimate, austere and generating dialogue product of the rotation of the very same element (the rectangle), and later originating a compositional game which took me to the square. It is an orthogonal structure that has always characterized my work.
With this proposal I invite the public to get in contact with their own creativity and to play with it, to generate in their compositional decisions an awareness about the power of action of each one.
The monoprints bring into light the rules of the game which were established in the book. In each stamp we can see the square goffering (embossing) technique and then the unfolded account about the composition. Hence, see it as the index, since they are parts of the same story.
I believe that beauty is a process of search within the change, is that instant of perfection that won’t stop leading to the next step.
The book helps the person to activate this searching process. The minimalistic language, pure and simple combined with a random game allows us to raise awareness of our personal aesthetics.
Personally, along my way, I’ve found beauty in the moment where the aesthetic reflects the essence of my spirit.
