Urban Series ‹ Rebeca Mendoza

In Urban Series, I work with the synchronicity of the unconscious, by focusing my reflections on doing. Setting knowledge and training free in order to work with uncertainty and confidence is part of the challenge I pose. In this series, the materials I use react with each other, they live artistically, but not in a conventional way. I put the emphasis on the action for the action itself, relying on the structure gained through years of training and experience. I put the technique aside to make the technique itself the center of attention. This series is paradoxical, controversial, dynamic and daring. The story is simultaneous, it overlaps. Movement and rhythm are the times playing on the plane.
